BELGRADE DJ WITH roots going back to late 90s
R^ST’s life journey has been an blend of music and culture, law and activism. R^ST means growth in all Slavic languages, and it symbolises his path of growth across diverse paths of inspiration and metamorphosis. In his productions, he fuses hypnotic melodies with strong beats and in live performances he blends sounds from different genres to craft the feelings of inclusion and love with fellow dancers.
During the day, he is a lawyer and a senior partner at a prestigious law firm, an activist for cultural transformation and inclusion of those less privileged. During the night, he is a lover of electronic music – a DJ and producer, but above all – a regular at parties, festivals and art exhibits.
His love for DJing and raving drove him to continue exploring his artistic side and expressing his inspirations beyond a conventional professional career, culminating in his official debut at large venues in 2022. Since then, he has been performing regularly, growing his audience as a selector, fusing techno, tech house, melodic techno and indie dance and combining these genres with live and hybrid live performances.
R^ST is always experimenting across genres in the search of the perfect melody and engaging beats, never settling for just one sound or genres. To him, music is about love, movement and the feeling of togetherness. He sometimes follows the crowd, and sometime leads it, understanding that enjoyment of music is not meant to be confined to a choice between entertainment and elevation. It is meant to be both.
He is a regular at a local club and cultural centre “Silosi” where he plays his regular outdoor and indoor sets. He has also performed at various local and regional landmark venues in Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and elsewhere.
In 2023, R^ST released three singles on his label HAAI LIFE. In July he signed an EP “Kilim Weave” with Café de Anatolia.
